Associate Project Manager III

Job Description: Various Electrical-Related Projects

Under managerial direction, the selected candidate(s) will provide field support during the design and construction of capital projects:
  • Support the Principal Electrical Engineer's office with various electrical-related capital projects, especially with field surveys and investigations.
  • Assist Principal Electrical Engineer or his designee with resolution of DC and third rail work issues.
  • Organize project information, reports; process design and electrical-related documents; and interact with other NYCT departments.
Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering with five years' experience in electrical-related projects OR a four-year high school diploma or its educational experience with nine years' experience in electrical-related projects.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Experience Requirements: A combination of experience and education to make up the equivalent of nine years described above.

Desired Skills/Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Direct Current (DC) and Third Rail Operations
  • Knowledge of electrical-based systems, installations and applicable codes and standards.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with NYCT operations and mass-transit facilities preferable.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with capital construction procedures and field operations preferable.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. CADD experience is desirable but not required
  • The ability to write clearly, organize project information, prepare reports and presentations.
  • The ability to coordinate with a multitude of users such as operations and engineering personnel.
Work Requirements
  • 30-Hour OSHA Certification is required.
  • The Consultant shall provide safety shoes, at no cost to NYCT, which meets NYCT guidelines and specifications when participating in any activities located on the track or wayside.
  • Must pass a one-day NYCT Track Safety & General Order Training Course prior to participating any in work CPM project.
Hours: Normal Work Week: Monday through Friday (nights/weekend based on project need)
No. of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 hours (NYCT does not pay for lunch hours)
  Hours of Work: 8:00 to 5:00
  Technical or Administrative functions: 75% technical/field & 25% administrative
  Field or Office location: Field 70%/Office Locations 30%.
