Associate Project Manager II

Job Description: Review of technical and non-technical contract-specifications documents for Capital Program design and construction projects.

Review and provide mark-ups for Contract-Specifications documents at design completion stage, and pre-award addendum changes for capital program design and construction projects. Assess compatibility of specifications and drawings for in-house and consultant designs; identify contradictions and other deficiencies, and ensure that effective resolution and corrections by Design and Construction Managers, Engineers and Architects and their staffs are satisfactorily completed, Ensure contract-specifications documents are complete, coordinated, concise and biddable before issuing approval.
Review and provide mark-ups for technical and non-technical project specific and master specifications.
Education Requirement: Baccalaureate degree in architecture or any of the following engineering disciplines: electrical, mechanical, communications, signals or a satisfactory equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Experience Requirements:
o      At least five years of full-time practical experience in engineering or architectural design, including preparation and/or review of contract-specifications documents and drawings for construction projects.
o      Experience in project coordination and engineering or architectural supervision or management.
o      Knowledge of various project delivery methods and payment types.
o      Familiarity with construction administration and support activities.

Special Skills/Training Requirements:
o      Familiarity with design and construction procedures.
o      Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
o      Experience with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
o      Strong analytical and organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Hours: Normal Work Week: Monday - Friday
No. of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 (NYCT does not pay for lunch hours.)
Hours of Work: 8:00 AM to 4:30PM
  • 90% Technical functions - 10% Administrative functions
  • 95% Office location — 5% field
  • Right-of-Way access is not required
