Job Description: JOB TITLE: Revenue Specialist I
I. JOB SUMMARY –
Resolve customer collection issues by monitoring and investigating outstanding activity. Expedite the collection of revenue.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES –
1. Balance collection efforts with profitable handling of accounts and the customer's expectations. Prepare account reviews for management and sales force.
2. Solve customer collection issues using account management values and make final decisions regarding placement of accounts with collection agency or attorney. Authorize driver collects as warranted.
3. Evaluate debtor's financial situation through use of credit reports and take appropriate action. Recommend write-offs as necessary.
4. Receive all incoming communication, including correspondence and telephone calls on assigned accounts from terminals and customers. Provide assistance on collection issues, investigate and resolve disputes. Coordinate dispute resolution.
5. Provide feedback to management and sales force to assist in the increase of customer satisfaction and retention.
III. REQUIREMENTS –
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum 2 years of revenue related experience.
3. Experience in collections with knowledge of collection industry practices and applicable federal and state regulations.
4. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
5. Strong customer service skills.
IV. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS –
1. College level business courses.
2. Knowledge of transportation industry.
3. Ability to review and interpret freight bills
