Job Description: Project Description: Oflice engineer/administrative support during the construction phase of
capital projects

 Description of Work:
a. Assist Construction Manager's Office with various electrical construction capital
b. Acl as high-level administrator-managing various construction administrative processes
(payments, scheduling, estimating, additional work orders).
c. Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of spreadsheets, scopes of work, estimates, change
orders, budget modifications, organize project files and documents, TAL services and
written construction-related correspondence.
d. Coordinate daily project management activities for the Construction Manger according to
NYCT Project Management Procedure/Guidelines.
e. Work with Construction Manager in meeting project goals, attending project
coordination meetings with stakeholders, preparing meeting minutes and following up on
action items.
f. Manage the coordination of field visits, surveys ~d inspections.
g. Distribute work assignments.
h. Review and approve Daily Inspection Reports.
1. Ensure and enforce adherence to quality assurance and quality control.
J. Ensure and enforce adherence to safety protocol.
k. Performs other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager.
Other Work Requirements
a. The consultant must attend a one day NYCT Track safety training Course is required
prior to participating in work on or near the trdck or wayside.
b. The consultant will provide safety shoes, at no cost to NYCT, which meets NYCT
guidelines and specifications before participating in work on or near the track or
c. The consultant must have OSHA 30-hour certification.                                                                                                  
Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Experience Requirements: Ten (10) years of electrical-related experience or project
management work in capital construction project coordination. A satisfactory equivalent of
education and experience may be considered.

Special Skills/Training Requirements:
a. Knowledge of engineering and project management processes with practical
experience of construction administration and field operations.
b. Knowledge of project management software preferable
c. Proficiency in the English language with ability to clearly write and verbally
d. Managerial/supervisory experience preferred.
c. Knowledge of engineering guidelines, specifications and standards of performance.
f. Experience working with interdisciplinary teams.
g. Strong analytic problem solving and intcrper~onal skills.
h. Ability to set priorities and ensure timely completion/closeout of assignments.
1. Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
Hours: Normal Work Week: Monday-Friday (weekends and nights when necessary)
No. of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 hours (NYCT does not pay.for lunch hours).
Hours of Work: 8 am-5pm (minimum; includes lunch without pay):
• Technical function - 50%, Administrative function- 50%.
• Field location - 25%, Office location- 75%.
• Right-of-Way access is required.
Other Information: Duration of Service Required: 52 Weeks.
Work Location: within the 5 Boroughs
Reports To: Construction Manager.
