• Screen and assess registration applications and grant requests in company' Grants Management System and act upon same in timely fashion in accordance with departmental processes. For requests that fail to meet company criteria, create and facilitate timely and professional declination of support.
• Perform required due diligence on all organizations, individual registrants and applicants to the company Grants Management System in a timely manner. Engage in follow-up communications with requestors, as necessary, to request clarification to remedy deficiencies or educate them regarding committee criteria for consideration.
• Serve as the primary resource to manage the documentation and fulfillment with company Workshops and Inventory Control inventory regarding modifications and substitutions to grant-supported events involving company inventory. Troubleshoot and take necessary actions on highly time-sensitive fulfillment issues.
• Use electronic reporting and Excel resources to draft comprehensive, accurate monthly reports regarding company grantmaking activity.
Provide outstanding service to all internal and external stakeholders and provide a positive representation of company in all interactions. Use independent judgment to escalate questions and issues as appropriate.
Associates Degree required; Bachelors Degree strongly preferred.
Three (3) to four (4) years experience in Customer Service or Business Process Support required.
Excellent follow up and strong communication skills.
Demonstrates strong organizational skills and analytical abilities.
Strong propensity to multi-task and see tasks through to the finish.
Ability to problem solve and make decisions to interact with internal and external contacts of all levels.
Extremely detail oriented.
Motivated, diligent and persistent.
Maintains a positive attitude and works well within a team environment.
Handles stressful situations in a fast paced environment. Effectively prioritizes workload/time management.
Excellent verbal and written communication/customer service skills.
Strong Microsoft Office skills required and experience with web-based software preferred. Ability to work flexible hours preferred.
Accepts a high level of accountability for work assigned.
Judgment Required: This position requires the ability to handle numerous responsibilities at one time.This position demands a professional and knowledgeable demeanor. The Grants Specialist must solve problems and provide guidance to stakeholders in a calm, logical fashion and treat each stakeholder with respect. The Grants Specialist must also drive a multiple-step review, documentation, review, and reporting process. Independent Action: The Grants Specialist is often presented with challenges, which require effective decision making ability. These changing situations frequently demand an prompt response, which must support all company policies.
