Job Description & Responsibilities:
  • The Business Development Manager is responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with new and existing customers.Identifying and developing new ideas or concepts that result in sales growth new business opportunities.
  • Identify and update contact list of key decision makers.
  • Drive requirements for Voice of Customer
  • Follows up on new leads to qualify the lead, and assess and quantify the needs of the prospect.
  • Represent and demonstrate company's products at conferences, trade shows, seminars, customer facilities, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline, focused on current and targeted new accounts, to continuously grow the business and generate sales.
  • Work closely with customers to help identify initial job scope and prepares initial project specifications, data sheets and application notes.
  • Effectively convey detailed customer requirements to Product Management and Engineering teams.
  • Work very closely with all departments in the Company to respond to RFP's, and help assure effective communication between company and the customer, through the bidding, negotiation and sale closing process.
  • Provides on-site customer follow-up to newly submitted project proposals and competed projects.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support product development and sales efforts.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing and at least 5 years relevant experience in technical business development and sales is highly desired, but may consider applicant with extensive, current, and relevant experience.
  • Experience in the transportation industry being a plus.
  • Solid analytical, critical thinking, time management, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Occasional travel requirements up to 40 - 50% throughout North American sales territory.
  • Occasional travel internationally for worldwide sales meetings.
