Job Description:
  • Senior Organizational Change Management Specialist for Hydrocarbon Value Chain (HCVC) project. The HCVC project is a business-driven initiative which is aimed at driving efficiency, reducing costs and increasing profitability within our Operations. This position will be responsible for program and project level change management including communications and some training development/delivery.
  • Together with the Project Manager and Program Lead, the Senior Change Management Specialist will play a key role in ensuring projects meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage. This role will focus on the people side of change – including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee understanding, adoption and usage and minimize resistance. The Sr. Change Management Specialist will work to drive understanding, adoption, engagement, higher ultimate utilization and greater proficiency of the changes that impact employees to increase benefit realization.
  • Apply a structured change management approach and methodology for the people side change
  • Develop change management plans, based on the OCM strategy, which include details of the change and the stakeholders being impacted by the change.
  • Develop in-depth stakeholder analysis and relationship maps that specify the impacts, risks and level of involvement of each stakeholder group.
  • Assess the change impacts and complete assessments in each
  • Identify potential people-side risks and anticipated points of resistance, and develop specific plans to mitigate to address the concerns.
  • Conduct readiness assessments, evaluate results and present findings in a logical and easy-to-understand manner.
  • Work with the broader transformation and project management team to develop communications and training in support of targeted change management plans
  • Be an active and visible coach to work stream and to the project team.
  • Integrate change management activities into the overall project plan and specific work streams within the project
  • Support organizational design and definition of roles and responsibilities within the business as required.
  • Craft a training strategy and training plans as required.
  • Craft a communications strategy and plans as required.
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress.
  • Deliver presentations on change management, engagement, training or communication work as required.
  • Prepare status updates and participate in reviews with the change management team and project leadership.
  • Conduct 'lessons learned' reviews as required.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Psychology, Education or related degree.
  • Certified Prosci change management required
  • Change Management Professional designation is an asset
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of direct Change Management experience
  • Experience in Oil and Gas preferred
  • Down Stream highly preferred
  • Experience working on large transformation projects and large-scale organizational change efforts
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Training experience and experience in training content development is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively and build relationships at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholders (e.g., management, field personnel)
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills required
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to identify root causes
  • Strong analytical and decision making abilities
