Job Description:
  • As the Head of Design you will be responsible for overseeing the creative and operational aspects of a Design team.
  • You will lead multiple initiatives that touch customers and employees across a variety of mediums.
  • You'll tackle all aspects of the design process from user research to physical and digital prototyping to helping tell the story to our business partners.
  • On the product management and design team, we create impact through producing experiences that touch customers and employees throughout the cycle of homeownership.
  • Our goal is to create work that resonates as desirable, feasible, and viable.
  • Designers sit right in that sweet spot – caring about what people need, and making beautiful, engaging experiences for them.
  • You will build industry-leading products and services.
  • Lead concept development in relation to design and creative outputs.
  • Build a design practice by hiring and retaining a team of designers and content writers.
  • Advocate for exceptional design with beautiful and thoughtful creativity.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers and business partners with different backgrounds to bring product designs to customers.
  • Conduct user research and translate insights into tangible designs
  • Develop creative programs and design concepts that meet the business objectives of the organization and that advance our brand and proposition strategy
  • Ensure that design and creative projects are delivered on time and to budget

Skills & Qualifications:
  • You have led and built design teams from scratch with best design practices
  • Ability to tell compelling project stories to product managers, engineers and business partners
  • Past experience working with Agile development teams
  • Ability to design in multiple mediums and levels of interactivity including mobile first designs
  • Curious mindset and enthusiasm for exploring new opportunities and design solutions
  • Understanding of basic Design Thinking philosophy and comfortable with ambiguity and pushing design methodologies
  • Applied skills in real-world human problems (not just artistic or academic exercises).
  • Designing solutions which are always grounded in some insight(s) about people
  • Experience conducting user research and interviews
  • An associate's degree in design coupled with some work experience in relevant field
  • Solid grasp of standard design tools such as, Sketch, Invision, Adobe Creative Suite.
