Job Description:
  • The primary function of this position is to perform the financial transactions necessary to fulfill the requirements of the cleint as the fiscal agent for the Medicaid program for the State of Alaska to meet our SLA department goals.
  • Duties include processing adjustment/void coding & processing, handling provider refunds, entry of financial transactions into add/pay file, analysist of information to assist in reducing future error occurrences, assist Accounting Assistant staff with routine questions and other miscellaneous financial transactions as required.
  • Assist with Finance projects such as AR Recoupment, prior year 1099 research and/or other projects as assigned.
  • Assist with Payment Cycle, Check Intake, Work Orders, and/or Financial Adjustments & Void Cycle performing routine processes.
  • Assists with extracting data to prepare monthly financial statements. This may include producing account activity detail or obtaining appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Maintains required records, reports, and files.
  • Monitors and records daily activity as it relates to assigned areas.
  • Prepares journal entries and post to the general ledger, to ensure proper accounting of revenue and expenses.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or High School Diploma with experience with medical services.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Ability to explain complex financial processes to providers and colleagues.
  • Prior health insurance claims processing knowledge.
  • Ability to work inter-dependently with others, under pressure, and to meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate computer experience (Accounting/Finance Software).
  • Excellent communication skills.
