A lead Consultant will be responsible for generating demand for the emerging Healthcare device product development space primarily in US geography and will also be part of delivering the solutions on client engagements by performing the analysis of current environment, feasibility for new product introductions considering Technical/Business context, ROI and roadmap for implementation.

Lead Consultants are expected to be able to manage small teams. In addition, Lead Consultants will participate in and support business development for our organization in the Engineering Design Services business line focused on Mechanical Engineering for Health Care – Medical Devices business.

The Lead Consultant is expected to:
  • Understand, assess, and validate a client's business requirement
  • Work independently to assess and define current and to-be client business models, and technical feasibility including target markets, target products and services and revenue model analysis
  • Work independently to analyze, design, and make recommendations addressing clients' new product development needs, plans, and activities
  • Understand the business impact of technology
  • Manage small teams as needed
  • Work in a collaborative manner with and client teams
  • Provide functional or domain experience within the Medical Devices domain for Healthcare customers
  • Gain subject matter expertise in overall Mechanical Engineering Capabilities to be able to support client requirements in Medical Devices Industry segment
  • Understand the entire product development lifecycle
  • Work on proactive pitches, Reusable templates for larger delivery teams, Mentor junior colleagues

Lead Consultants are typically experienced professionals who are at the Senior Consultant level at consulting firms or have at least six years industry/consulting experience, some in a management role.

Lead Consultants should possess the following qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in a Mechanical Engineering and strong academic performance
  • MBA from a premier institute (Specialization in Business Strategy Preferred)
  • Overall 10+ years of experience out of which at least five years' experience is in either Mechanical Design or Program Management in Medical Devices Industry environment
  • 5+ years of experience working in Product Strategy area advising clients on their portfolio rationalization / new product introductions areas
  • Two or more years providing guidance to others or managing small teams
  • Familiarity with various primary and secondary research techniques include one on one interviews, focus groups, workshop facilitation and structured data gathering
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and successfully able to break down client problems and structure problem solving approaches
  • Extremely good with numbers and independently able to build data models, financial models to drive analysis and insights
  • High peer, end user, and/or client satisfaction with the work products that have been created
  • Experience in either business development and/or developing and scoping new projects
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel when necessary to meet client requirements
