Ansible SME

Must have skills:
  • 3 - 6 years of of overall IT experience with a background in system administration and at least 2+ years of Proven system administration experience on Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and/or Windows Server — comfort operating across both platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience writing and structuring Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, and variable management (host_vars/group_vars) following Ansible best practices.
  • Experience deploying and managing automation through Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AWX/Ansible Tower) — including job templates, workflows, schedules, inventories, and RBAC.
  • Ability to read and understand operational runbooks or manual step-by-step procedures and independently convert them into idempotent, reusable automation artifacts.
  • Working knowledge of at least one scripting language — Bash, Python, or PowerShell — used alongside Ansible for API integration, data transformation, or glue scripting.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure domains including servers, networking fundamentals, application tiers, and databases — sufficient to automate across these layers.
  • Familiarity with Git-based version control and branching strategies for managing automation code.
  • Strong communication skills — able to engage with technical operations teams, translate operational needs into automation requirements, and occasionally present solutions to client stakeholders.
