We are seeking a Databricks & Python Application Engineer to join our Front Office Derivatives technology team. This role focuses on integrating existing Strats workloads into Databricks, providing operational support for compute processes, and contributing to Python development. The position requires strong technical depth, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot complex compute environments in a fast-paced trading setting.
Key Responsibilities
Databricks Integration (45%)

Support the migration of Strats applications to Databricks

Diagnose and resolve cluster, job, configuration, and runtime issues

Perform detailed log analysis and troubleshoot compute failures

Ensure stability, reliability, and performance of Databricks workflows
Python Development (25%)

Develop and maintain Python scripts, utilities, and enhancements

Work closely with the lead Python developer on coding and integration tasks

Debug and resolve application issues across multiple environments
Application Support & Infrastructure (30%)

Support end-of-day (EOD) compute processes for trading teams

Analyze and resolve environment, server, and memory-related issues

Work directly with traders, quants, and Strats to troubleshoot operational problems

Create, manage, and follow up on infrastructure and platform tickets
Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in software development or application support

Strong Python programming fundamentals

Hands-on experience with Databricks or equivalent compute platforms (GCP, Azure, Snowflake)

Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, especially in compute workflows

Proven ability to troubleshoot logs, compute jobs, cluster issues, and environment failures

Experience working across both Windows and Linux environments

Excellent communication skills and comfort interfacing directly with front-office users

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field

Capital Markets / Front Office derivatives exposure is beneficial but not required
