Senior AS400 Developer
 JOB SUMMARY:
  EXPERIENCE:         

Five years diversified IS experience, including at least four years in programming and one year project management experience, or the equivalent required. Experience in full life of analysis, design, coding, testing, user acceptance, implementation and enhancement of software application systems related to distribution companies in an AS/400 environment.  Experience in implementation of an ERP system, preferably J.D.Edwards. Programming using RPG, RPG IV, ILE, CL and SQL.  Ability to manage multiple projects.  Excellent communication and leadership skills.  Ability to deal effectively across all levels of the business organization.
            
Responsible for overseeing a large IS business project or several small to medium scope projects, where strategic business needs are converted into viable IT endeavors.  Interacts with the management of the user community to define business requirements and scope of the project.  Works with Project Manager to develop the overall IS design for each project, including writing the project specifications and prioritization of tasks.  Acts as the contact point for business users during and after the implementation of projects.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
          
Oversees new IS business projects of a small to medium scope, where strategic business needs are converted into viable IT endeavors. 
  • Interacts with the management of the user community to define business requirements and scope of the project.
  • Works with Project Manager to develop the overall IS design for each project, including writing the project specifications and prioritization of tasks. 
  • May assist in assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying necessary resources, and outlining a time frame including the deadlines and anticipated completion dates of projects.
  • Coordinates the implementation phase of each project and acts as the contact point for business users, should any technical problems arise.
  • Tests, documents, trains, and assures quality assurance aspects of each project.
  • Acts as the contact point for business users and troubleshoots various issues on projects after they have been released into production
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

Qualifications
     

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent required.
