Computer/Data Center Operator (Part-time, shift work)

Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland
Monitor data center infrastructure environmentals, i.e., power, cooling, and make appropriate decisions as described in the standard operating procedures.
Perform asset management for all hardware.
Assist with the planning and execution of disaster recovery testing.
Document day-to-day activity in the shift logs as applicable.
Assist with maintaining and updating standard operating procedures.
Utilize the tape management system to control the movement of tapes.

Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision making capabilities.
Attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced data center environment.

YOUR KNOWLEDGE BASE INCLUDES
Data center operation.
Knowledge of server installation, power concepts, and redundancy.
Proven ability to make smart decisions in emergency situations.

WE REQUIRE
3 years of experience in a multi-user data center environment.
Strong troubleshooting experience.
Ability to work in a solo environment with procedural guidance.
