  • The FBI’s Data Technology Exploitation Unit (DTXU) is a new unit, stood up to serve as the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division's advocate for technology capabilities and solutions. DTXU collaborates closely with CD stakeholders and other mission focused operational and support components throughout the FBI.
  • Serve as an integrator of new software products and key member of a software development organization responsible for Research, Development, Test and Evaluation of new software systems.
  • Assist in the development and creation of information technology systems and processes to support FBI agents and analysts in the context of a 3-tiered or n-tiered enterprise architecture, eliminating stovepipes.
  • Oversee newly created IT architecture, providing code comments, process descriptions, and analytic techniques including: computer aided software engineering (CASE), information engineering, system life cycle (SLC) methodology, reverse engineering, data modeling, graphical user interfaces, rapid interactive network prototyping, and Internet standards, protocols, and exploitation.
  • Incorporate new software technologies with one or more components to include product planning and external specification generation.

  • Team leader, responsible for deliverables and all aspects of the project over the entire project lifecycle (initiate, plan, execute, control, close, continuous improvement)
  • Oversee the management of the scope, risks, issues, deliverables, and schedule of individual project tasks
  • Effectively communicate with FBI and Intelligence Community Government officials of all levels
  • Develop open standards software and systems in compliance with FBI data and security model standards
  • Deploy applications to integrate, modify, and extend web-based solutions
  • Participate in Design Review Board meetings to ensure overall integration and synthesis of applications, systems, and databases within mission area/systems.

  • Mastery knowledge of state-of-the-art Internet technologies, methods, standards, and issues to provide guidance to a multi-disciplined work group and others in the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of web-based data and information management services
  • Skill in applying theoretical foundations of computer science along with an in-depth understanding of the overall mission and the application of newly emerging technology to satisfy mission requirements
  • Ability to coordinate, integrate, and design/develop the overall automated architecture to ensure effective communication and fusion of mission area objectives
  • Ability to make presentations and deliver research papers before internal and external groups or organizations
  • Ability to maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

  • Top Secret Clearance (or above)
  • Bachelor of Science degree, minimum MS/MBA preferred
  • Certifications Preferred: PMP, MCSE, MCITP, MCP, VMWare, Linux/Unix, AWS Certified Solution Architect or SysOp Administrator, RHEL.
