Job Description: A Server Administrator maintains the computer networking system in an office environment by tracking server activity, performing upgrades of software, maintaining computer hardware, addressing questions about technical problems, and improving efficiency by evaluating system network functions. Most work is completed during regular business hours. Occasionally, with new system upgrades or server fixes, work must be completed during odd hours of the night or on weekends. This is when traffic to a Website or office activity will be at its lowest and thus have less of an impact on business.

Requirements:
  • BS degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of experience with Domain controllers, MS Exchange, MS SQL Server, AppManager, and Sentinel
  • 3 years of experience with system monitoring and recovery
  • 3 years of experience in Windows Operation System, software, and hardware maintenance
  • Ability to execute assignments within the established timeframes and quality standards
  • Excellent communication skills and being able to work independently or in a team
  • Superb client service and helpdesk skills
  • Comptia Sec+, Comptia Net+, and MCSA certifications
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert and ITIL Foundation certifications a plus

Responsibilities:
  • Performs software installations, maintenance, and upgrades to Windows operating systems and layered software packages in accordance with established procedures and service level agreements
  • Troubleshoots customer workstations; creates user accounts; maintains data files; and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity
  • Monitors and maintains servers through patch management and the creation of relevant reports (storage, performance, backups, compliance, etc.)
  • Creates and follows procedures to include security, data safety and integrity, disaster recovery, and bulk data import and exports
  • Maintain backups of Windows Server environment; NetBackup
  • Manage Configurations through Creation of Baseline Configurations and Group Policies
  • Manage Active Directory, OUs, GPOs, security groups, accounts, and delegation
  • Create Workflows and Scripts for automating AD Management and create reports on AD structure/usage
  • Participates in Cyber Security Incident Response activities as needed
  • Control access to and remediate hardware failures in server rooms
  • Administer local servers and accounts
  • Provide support for File and Print Servers
  • Install operating system patches, upgrades, restores, and releases as needed
  • Conduct server health checks, daily maintenance, and server backups
  • Perform server monitoring and reporting
  • Recover and restore data as required
  • Install application software patches as needed
  • Control access to and remediate hardware failures in Server Rooms
  • Maintain Emergency Shutdown and Restoration procedures for Server Rooms
  • Provide after-hours cell phone and on-call support to respond to local network outages
  • Other duties as assigned
