Serve as specialist maintaining patent portfolio and inventor information in various tools and operational functions. Responsibilities will include managing portfolio global changes, inventor information details, annuities docketing, Inventor Award program management, internal operational on-boarding/off-boarding processes, records management, light prosecution work, invoice review and projects as needed. Maintain a positive, professional and productive work culture Encourage and facilitate open communication within the and with other in the department .
Paralegal Certificate OR College graduate with 1-3 years of experience in legal field OR 3-4 years legal experience under supervision of attorney (CA bar).
Work with a very high volume of patent cases - Team player and perform any required tasks to meet deadlines in a timely manner - Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail - Flexible w/ ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast paced environment - Able to meet strict and often changing deadlines - Effective verbal and written communication skills - Able to think logically and communicate questions, thoughts and ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing - Proactively assume responsibility and consistently follow through on assignments - Ability to work independently with minimal guidance - Identify urgent correspondence when managing docketing and de-docketing queues. Conduct research and update database fields - Update process documents - keep abreast of company/dept. policies and procedures (e.g., court rules, relevant law, etc) as well as industry trends - Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook required; Powerpoint and Visio, etc. a plus) - Ability to consistently complete assignments on time with minimal errors or mistakes
