Are you passionate about writing beautiful code and test-driven development? Do you enjoy spirited discussions on the future of web standards like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS? Do you obsess over the user experience and getting the details right? If so, you might just be the motivated front-end developer we're looking for. You should be self-driven and have a proven track record in design and development of web applications. You should also have a passion for engineering, be innovative, and possess strong technical and communications skills.
Responsibilities
• Craft solid JavaScript code using jQuery/Ajax (or similar libraries) to create unique front-end behaviors • Expert with CSS3 and Sass (ability to write mixins, partials, use source maps, etc)
• Expert at writing semantic HTML
• Comfortable with version control software (Git)
• Understanding of the interplay between JavaScript, HTML and CSS, with a focus on performance
Key Qualifications
• Keen eye for detail and experience collaborating with design teams to deliver world class web experiences
• Exceptional time management and communication skills, with great attention to detail
• Be comfortable working within the Mac software ecosystem.
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years of industry experience or 7-10 years professional working experience is required
• 3+ years of experience working with creative teams across design and UX disciplines
• Experience working with Ruby on Rails (or writing Front-End functionality for a team that uses it)
• Experience in web standards, semantic web, accessibility, and Client's Human Interface Guidelines
• Online portfolio or access to a public Git repository of work
