Job Summary


Client is seeking a GIS Analyst to join the team. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing and editing geospatial data in a GIS; the ability to engage in a GIS project with moderate direction; the ability to create, assess and revise spatial data editing and workflow policies; experience performing data quality checks for data integrity; the ability to evaluate spatial data for impacts to related teams. Outstanding communication, detail-oriented and creative problem-solver.
Skills/Qualifications:
-3+ years professional experience in a geospatial field
-Strong competence in geographic data analysis and data sourcing
-Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, Quantum GIS, PostgreSQL PostGIS
-Ability to work both in a team and independently when required
-Experience ensuing data integrity and accuracy through quality control techniques
-Ability to communicate clearly and often regarding project progress, challenges, and/or issues
-Attention to detail, data accuracy and quality of output
-Ability to pick up new projects, tasks quickly
-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment
-Strong analytical skills and intuition, capable of making decisions based on analysis and experience
-Results oriented
Description
We are looking for an individual to join our team who will:
Execute GIS projects quickly and comprehensively, providing clear and accurate results
Analyze basemap data, data specifications, and metadata for development or improvement of workflow instructions
Develop keen understanding of data model and map services
Draft and coordinate the dissemination of project workflows and editing and sourcing policies through the standard documentation

Identify sources that adhere to team's sourcing policy
Develop in-depth knowledge of team's primary software and data structure
Provide technical requirements to engineering teams as needed

Education Qualifications:
BA/BS in GIS, Geography, or related field
