Associate Informatician/ Information Scientist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support the development of Client technologies aimed at isolating antibodies using single-cell technologies. This individual will collaborate with scientists from different therapeutic areas to use these technologies toward lead isolation against an array of targets and diseases. The candidate will also support efforts to improve the technology, including designing and executing experiments, analyzing and interpreting data and presenting results to larger groups.
 
Position Requirements:
The successful candidate should have considerable experience in molecular biology, particularly advanced PCR techniques (such as multiplex and RT-PCR), DNA cloning and cell culture techniques. The individual should have demonstrated experience in optimizing/troubleshooting new protocols with a problem-solving mindset. Experience with display-based technologies, such as phage and ribosome display, is an asset. Familiarity with next-generation sequencing, automation and high-throughput screening from bacterial or mammalian expression systems would also be highly advantageous.
 
Strong communication skills are highly desirable. The individual should also be self-motivated, have good organizational skills and have demonstrated an ability to work within teams.
 
Additional Detail from Manager Intake:
  • This is a grant-funded proprietary project, through April 2018, implementing new technology discovery efforts towards therapeutic antibodies.
  • Candidates should have at least 5 years industry experience, preferably in Molecular Biology work
  • Candidates should have experience with Phage-Display and/or Yeast Display techniques (bacterial expression, expressing and purifying antibodies)
  • Experiences with mammalian cell culture and molecular cloning are beneficial
  • Candidates should be comfortable with PowerPoint for providing team presentations and communications
  • 90% lab-based, 10% administrative
  • Multi-disciplinary, working with other scientists within the infections disease space
  • Since this is a gran-based initiative, candidates need to be able to effectively meet deadlines based on required milestones
  • Ideal candidates will be problem solvers with optimization experience
