The Business Intelligence Level 3 team is part of the Data Service Organization at Brokerage. The team manages and supports several Data applications and infrastructure at Brokerage. These include data integration and virtualisation systems like Informatica ETL and Cisco Information Service Business intelligence report and visualisation like Business Objects XI, Qlik view and Tableau. Most of the applications are primarily host applications that run on Linux and Windows servers but also comprise some desktop components.

The successful candidate will be involved in day to day handling of incidents, escalations, problem and change management. This includes application server administration, technical troubleshooting of infrastructure and user incidents, server and application deployments and task automation. The role requires availability for weekend and on-call work on a rotation basis.

Skills Required:
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, Databases.
  • The applicant should feel comfortable with system administration of Unix/Linux infrastructure/Application, as well as a general understanding of Windows servers.
  • Scripting of operational administration tasks in one or more languages like Perl, Shell Scripting, Python...etc
  • The individual should have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in high pressure situations for Incident handling, management and resolution.
  • Be available for weekend and on-call work.
  • Experience in incident, problem and change management.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.

Skills Desired:
  • Windows and/or IIS administration experience
  • Tomcat/Apache experience
  • Knowledge of ITIL principles
  • Experience working with or supporting Business Intelligence applications (eg: Informatica PowerCenter, Business Objects, QlikView?)
  • Prior experience working in the financial services industry
