Our direct client is seeking an Application Developer to work in their Newark, NJ location. This is a contract position with the possibility of converting to a perm role.


Internet/Performance Communications. Evaluate and implement efficient, cost effective application program solutions, work as a team member with other systems analysts/programmers on scheduled releases as well as troubleshooting problems and may analyze existing system and programming logic to provide more efficient machine operations or to identify difficulties. Will provide production support (e.g. critical business days, after hours, on call, etc.) between operations end users and the systems support team as well as conduct periodic application disaster recovery exercises. Will operate on diverse development platforms, computing environments (e.g., host based, distributed systems, client server), software, hardware, technologies and tools and will document and complete developer test cases to ensure stable integration with existing mature systems. Essential skills: Strong analytical & mathematical skills, written & spoken communication skills; stored procedure development in SQLServer; .net C#; Autosys job management. Nice to have: Prior use/knowledge of ASPOSE.


  • This individual will become part of a team supporting the information technology requirements of the company's Mutual Funds business.
  • Reporting to a Director of Systems Development, responsible for systems analysis and design, application development, routine maintenance and production support.
  • Provides technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies which assist the business functions in meeting their strategic objectives.
  • Acts as an expert technical resource to development staff for all phases of the systems development life cycle. May lead teams or projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Consultant will be responsible for application development, routine maintenance and production support for the PCOM application, which provides data collection, content management and publishing services to the Performance Communications business function.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 4-6 years experience in software development.
  • 4-6 years hands on experience with Microsoft .NET technologies including C# and ASP.NET.
  • Strong web development skills including HTML, CSS, Javascript (jQuery) XML/XSL, Bootstrap, Angular JS, JSON.
  • Strong database design and development skills using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience in developing n-tier applications for internal and external audiences.
  • Working knowledge of software development and implementation on mobile devices (iOS and Android).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work equally well independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting all project commitments.
  • Flexible enough to succeed whether assigned large project initiatives or routine maintenance and support tasks.
  • Experience with financial services applications preferred.
  • Knowledge of mutual funds business a plus.

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
