DevOps Engineer - Contract to Hire Position

Job Description:

The DevOps Engineer is primarily responsible for architecting, specifying and building new systems through automation, as well as contributing to the planning, re-architecture or refactoring of systems already in use. This role implements planning, risk management, tooling, build and software engineering through collaboration with technical and engineering teams to improve system stability and minimize system downtime and customer impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing architecture and design support of the linux, windows, cloud and container environments
  • Setting various development and administration standards for company Production and Development systems
  • Promote knowledge sharing and overall DevOps culture in the organization
  • Driving automation, design development and other solutions in a comprehensive manner to boost operational efficiency
  • Automating application releases using continuous integration and delivery to Azure and on premise environments
  • Collaborating between development and IT teams to scale cloud solution, create workflow processes and ensure quality of releases
  • Coordinating between QA personnel, software and application developers, project managers and stakeholders
  • Planning integrations and additions across many systems and environments
  • Troubleshooting critical site events and documenting root cause analysis
  • Providing recommendations on approaches to troubleshooting and resolution of site and production issues
  • Learning about and gathering new technologies and related tools to introduce to the company in order to grow the agile development environment
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience with continuous integration, container concepts and/or related experience
  • Experience in open source technologies and have a broad knowledge of technologies used in the DevOps community
  • Extensive experience with automation tools and processes
  • Prior experience working with and supporting software development teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to effectively work with others
