Our direct client is seeking a Senior Technical Analyst to work in their Newark, NJ location. This is a 6+ month right to hire opportunity.

Job Description:
  • Our client is actively pursuing a Senior Technical Analyst resource to assist in the execution of a technology modernization effort including moving from a legacy mainframe environment and leveraging newer technologies and infrastructure capabilities. The Senior Technical Analyst will be responsible for both low-level decomposition, reverse engineering and documentation of current state Mainframe and .NET applications. Deconstruction artifacts will be used to drive the development of re-platformed applications.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Work with application owners, developers, business analysts and subject matter experts to understand and document the business logic and process flows of mainframe and .NET applications.
  • Create detailed data flows including embedded business rules and transformations for complex, legacy mainframe and .NET applications.
  • Determines, defines, and documents/maps system specifications as well as process improvements that may include User Stories, Use Cases, Logical Models, Activity, Sequence, State Transition & Process Flow Diagrams, Report Specifications and Data Mapping & Flow Diagrams.
  • Prepares business requirements, functional and non-functional specifications including key requirements aspects like traceability, reusability.
  • Uses business modeling such as UML (Unified Modeling Language) or Business Process Modeling and Notation (BPMN) to convert requirements into different types of 'models' or 'diagrams', each of which describes a particular aspect of the requirements.
  • Prepares and presents deconstruction artifacts to developers and stakeholders.

Skills/Qualifications Required:
  • The right candidate will be a knowledgeable, hands-on technologist with a strong background in both low-level decomposition, reverse engineering and documentation of current state data flows and transformations.
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Financial Services experience (Mutual Fund background preferred) with a proven track record of delivering multiple projects on-time, on budget and within scope
  • 5+ years of experience with Information Services data solutions implementation
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Analyst, IT Consultant or similar role
  • 5+ years of experience in project management
  • Must be familiar with mainframe COBOL, DB2, SQL and .NET technologies.
  • Must be able to work independently and can have exceptional solving problem skills.
  • Mainframe background a plus
  • Understanding of business practices
  • Familiarity with Agile project methodology
  • Excellent communication skills
