DevOps (Security) Engineer - Contract to Hire

Scope of Work:
Our client is looking for a DevOps Engineer with 3 to 8 years of software development experience. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely and frequently with software engineers and security specialists across the company. The position is targeted to enable better security as part of the software development lifecycle through simple and automated tools that are easily integrated into a developer's workflow.

  • Work as part of a team of software and security engineers, with a high degree of freedom to design and build best-in-class offerings
  • Technical point of contact for product teams as it relates to automation, CI/CD, and DevOps and/or DevSecOps
  • Build tools and automation scripts that enable developers to easily consume security services delivered by Global Business Technology Solutions (GBTS) and the Information Security Office (ISO)
  • Design and test solutions to unique and interesting challenges
  • Build strong relationships with the company's technical teams
  • Improve the accessibility of security through automation, continuous integration pipelines, and other means
  • Understand existing processes and identifying how to improve and streamline them in order to improve team efficiency and effectiveness
  • A background in developing and release software products in cloud and/or desktop environments
  • You have interest in learning more about software security (bonus if you have security experience)
  • You have experience in various development tools, such as Jenkins and GitHub
  • You are comfortable with different programming and scripting languages, such as Python, JavaScript, C++, Java or others.
  • You excel in a highly collaborative and fast-paced team environment
Preferred Skills:
  • Application development experience
  • Industry recognized certification in security (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, etc)
  • Enterprise IT security risk assessments and related frameworks (e.g., ISO 27000 series, COBIT, IT General Controls, etc.)
  • Experience in administration of one or more of the following: Windows, Linux, UNIX
