Our direct client is seeking a Data Solutions Developer to work in their Miami, FL location. This is a fulltime, permanent opportunity.

Basic Purpose:
  • Assist with the development of data integration processes required to solve business problems. The developer analyzes, reviews, and/or changes programs to adapt to changes in requirements or equipment configuration.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Plan, execute, and manage the strategic integration of new and existing data sources into the Enterprise Data Warehouse to support operational and analytical reporting.
  • Design data models with a clear focus on data security.
  • Document all work done as per company change management policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that data is accurate, consistent and meets organizational quality and integrity standards.
  • Monitor data flows between databases, servers and cloud services.
  • Perform other job related functions as assigned.

  • Relevant list of software applications currently used: SAP HANA, SAP Data Services, Seaware, SQL Server, SSIS, Oracle (PL/SQL), MXP, Amos, Fidelio, Micros, MAPS, Synkros (Konami)
  • Size of the relevant areas of the P&L impacted by the position: Finance department uses Data Warehouse to make decisions on $2.1 billion in annual revenue and $1.3 billion in annual expenses
  • Provide guidance and instruction on best practices related to data and its issues across the enterprise. This individual will be supporting the critical Data Warehouse Systems used for planning and decision making by the organization.

Nature and Scope:
  • Position reports to Manager Data Warehouse & Integrations under general supervision.
  • Incumbent performs analysis, design, and coding of new/existing Data Warehouse processes, presenting recommendations to Management.
  • Incumbent performs to the Data Warehouse as well as to provide 24/7 on-call support to the Data Warehouse processing (as part of a team's rotation) without Manager's supervision and be able to identify when to escalate to supervisor. On request, during projects or high volume based on business demands, incumbent might be required to supervise/monitor deployment of new or enhanced Data Warehouse processes.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with business users, members of IT, executive management and outside vendors.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.

  • 2-4 years relational database experience in data warehousing required including backend integration using SSIS, SAP Data Services, batch based systems and multidimensional modeling based on TDWI principals. Experience with relational database technology, T-SQL, PL/SQL and thorough experience with SAP HANA, SQL Server, Oracle RDBMS platform or Big data platforms. Experience in quality assurance testing, preferably in the area of large data set integrity assessment preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong analytical abilities, a thorough understanding of building data models in large quantities (terabytes). Knowledge of business intelligence systems, revenue management practices and cruise industry operations. Excellent analytical skills and organizational skills to gather and document business requirements. Verbal and written communication skills to thoroughly prepare specifications make recommendations and effectively work with internal and external members. Ability to prioritize and manage workload. Ability to work on a rotational on-call schedule which may include evenings and weekend hours, according to business demands.
