Your Role:

Are you a master builder for robust data infrastructures? Are you keen on applying engineering principles to data management systems? Are you passionate about leveraging analytics for quantitative research and investments? Are you interested in becoming part of a data and analytics team, revolutionizing the investment management platform and processes?

We're looking for someone to:

  • Provide thought leadership in big data platforms and data modeling in various NoSQL data stores
  • Partner with Investment Managers, Researchers, Data Scientists, IT Architects to deliver scalable data platforms with integrated graph, search, and time series analytics
  • Work with Data Scientists to design testable and repeatable data collection and preparation steps during data model constructions
  • Work with Data Scientists to deploy models to Test and Production environments
  • Ensure data quality and governance by teaming up with Data Governance team
  • Work with IT to oversee the implementation and integrity of the data platform

Your Team:
  • Chief Data Office (CDO), within Global Asset Management (AM), was established to re-define AM's data strategy and support the management of core data sets used across AM, such as Product data, Securities & Pricing data, Trade & Accounting data, and Client data. The CDO provides the foundation for establishing a data driven culture, by guiding the successful delivery of front-to-back solutions and enabling the distribution of managed data assets across AM. To design multi-faceted transformational strategies and deliver cutting edge solutions, the CDO is structured to encompass several functions, including Program Management, Data Analytics, Data Solutions, and Data Governance.

You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 7+ years of financial technology experience, with 5+ years towards delivering Data Management initiatives at large multi-business unit organizations or in a financial technology firm
  • Strong working knowledge of relational data modeling and experience with no-SQL databases and infrastructure
  • Proven track record of successful initiatives to establish data capabilities, design and create data repositories, improve data accessibility and quality, and effective data management
  • Hands-on solution driven attitude, with ability to provide tactical solutions and deliver strategic capabilities for various needs
  • Experience with reference and transactional data in finance, preferably for a trading operation.
  • Strong working knowledge of security master data, security market data, security trade and position management, position valuation models
  • Multi-tasking ability to participate in multiple complex programs at the same time in an agile environment
  • Working knowledge of Data Governance and Data Quality Management

You Are:
  • Proficient in SQL, data analytics language like Python or R, and an object oriented language like Java
  • Proficient in relational data stores like Oracle, SQL Server or Sybase
  • Experienced with NoSQL data stores like Cassandra, Redis, couchDB
  • Experienced with a graph database like ArangoDB, DataStax Enterprise Graph, JanusGraph, or Neo4j
  • Familiar with file systems like HDFS, AWS S3, or Azure Blob Storage
  • Familiar with messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Sqoop
  • Familiar with batch processing using Spark, Flink, Hadoop MapReduce, or Hive
