Job Description:
 
Perform and facilitate all training for associates working at Affordable and Conventional communities. This includes providing instruction and site team support in the areas of Property Management System Training, Soft Skill Operational Training, and Compliance process and documentation. This position will also assist in the development of curriculum and policies, and contribute to property transitions activities and support the implementation of various company initiatives.
 
  • Develop training curriculum and eLearning with Instructional Designers, Compliance team members and various business disciplines of the company.
  • Facilitate education sessions on a regular basis for established courses. To include; selecting training centers, and setting up class laptops/projectors, conducting webinars
  • Provide regular updates to training materials and guides to ensure they adhere to company policies and procedural changes by the Compliance Director
  • Ensure testing curriculum remains current and accurate
  • Ensure new associates are trained on regulatory reporting and administration, applicant files, recertification processes, and additional content related to Affordable property management
  • Ensure new associates are trained on Property Management Software, Learning Management System and other applications utilized in the management of the community.
  • Ensure existing associates meet annual training requirements by monitoring and providing reports from the Learning Management System to operations team members and various business disciplines of the company.
  • Provide guidance and support to on-site team members and Regional Managers through emails, phone calls and site visits
  • High-level Management of Yardi system to assist in Property Conversions for new acquisitions, Interface Configuration for Vendors and setting up new User Accounts
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:  
 
  • Will be encouraged to earn the CPM designation
  • Complete and pass Fair Housing Test
  • Compliance Training Certificate (For Tax Credit or Set-Aside Communities)
  • Valid state drivers license
  • Attend training courses as offered
 
Language Skills:  
 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from residents, owners, supervisors, and the general public.
 
Mathematical Skills:  
 
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, rent per square foot and other basic algebraic functions. Ability to read and understand operating statements and budgets.
 
Reasoning Ability:  
 
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of frequently conflicting priorities and distractions while keeping the portfolio running smoothly. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to deal with residents in an empathetic, professional manner. A good understanding of customer service concepts and applicability will be necessary in this position.
 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Required Skills:
 
  • Preferred minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent job-related work experience required
  • Preferred minimum of two (2) years' experience with Affordable Housing compliance and Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS)
  • Preferred minimum of two (2) years' experience with Yardi Property Management Software Applications
  • Preferred minimum of two (2) years' experience in technical writing/curriculum development
  • Preferred minimum of two (2) years job-related experience JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written communications
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others and work on a team
  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing, excellent verbal skills and proven ability to motivate a group or individuals to achieve excellence
  • Demonstrated professional Instructor Led Training in a virtual and live setting
  • Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Products and virtual conference software
  • Proven high accountability level and attention to detail
  • Travel
  • On average 35%-50% national travel is expected
