Your Role:

The CDO Data Governance function is currently engaged in the development of a strategic divisional Data Governance framework, while concurrently fulfilling the tactical Data Governance needs of several in-flight AM initiatives. To support this effort, the CDO is seeking a Data Governance Analyst with strong experience gathering data requirements, performing data analysis, and documenting governance processes to facilitate the development of program specific Data Governance deliverables while providing assistance to the broader strategy design. The Data Governance Analyst will work to establish standard data definitions to develop Business Glossaries, analyze data models & data sources to develop Data Dictionaries & Data Lineage documentation, define Data Quality rules & criteria, and help document data Policy.

As the CDO Data Governance Analyst, this resource must work across multiple Programs to drive specified Governance efforts. To this end, this resource must be able to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of actors, including the CDO Data Governance Lead, Program Managers, Business & Data Analysts, Senior Business SMEs, and Technology teams to ensure successful execution of Data Governance initiatives. This will be a documentation heavy role, responsible for developing the inputs needed to build-out the AM strategic Data Governance Software solution, Collibra.

Your Team:

The newly formed Chief Data Office (CDO), within Global Asset Management (AM), was established to re-define AM's data strategy and support the management of core data sets used across AM, such as Product data, Securities & Pricing data, Trade & Accounting data, and Client data. The CDO will provide the foundation for establishing a data driven culture, by guiding the successful delivery of front-to-back solutions and enabling the distribution of managed data assets across AM. To design multi-faceted transformational strategies and deliver cutting edge solutions, the CDO was structured to encompass several functions, including Program Management & Data Requirements, Data Architecture, Data Services & Integration, and Data Governance.

Your Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years work experience
  • Proficient in SQL
  • Ability to conduct stakeholder/ SME interviews or conduct independent research to define business terms & concepts and comprehensively document this
  • General understanding of the financial services industry (AM experience preferred)
  • Strong formal requirements documentation abilities, including detailed requirements descriptions, Visio flows, and mock-ups
  • Strong writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate & interact with people at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical & critical thinking skills
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and complete work efficiently within specified timeframes
  • Excellent Excel abilities. PowerPoint & Visio expertise also preferred
