Our direct client is seeking a Database Administrator to work in their Denver, CO location. This is a 6+-month contract opportunity.

Job Description:
  • Responsible for database design, development and administration of large scale Operational, OLTP and analytical data structures including logical and physical design
  • Communicates common goals and direction for the team and interfaces with management for feedback and to provide updates
  • Provides detailed project planning and may act as project manager on large database infrastructure initiatives
  • Builds and maintains relationships with IT business application groups and with infrastructure teams
  • Leads others to identify, test, and resolve complex database performance issues
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors
  • Has in-depth expertise in own database discipline and knowledge of the related discipline
  • Researches and recommends process improvement solutions; works through obstacles to implement
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships; Drive DBMS software vendors to obtain maximum value from software maintenance and support contracts
  • Conduct research on new database features and exploit those features in the environment in order to reduce infrastructure costs
  • Responsible for promoting teamwork within the department
  • Review, assign, and monitor ticket request/incident queues to ensure SLA's are met
  • Function as an individual contributor in the management, coordination, and execution of a variety of projects and tasks ranging from low to high degrees of complexity
  • Ensure that audit and compliance processes are defined and executed.
  • Provide trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management
  • Provide on-call rotational 24/7 Incident Response to database alerts from production monitoring tools and
  • Command Center personnel
  • Implement and analyze Key Performance Metrics and make recommendations

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 7 years of heavy database administration experience and production support in large, complex environments.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, presenting a professional image with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills including: leadership; initiative; attention to detail; and decisive decision-making skills.
  • Not required but prefer database certification.
