IT - Quality Engineer III - Software Performance Test Lead - CTH

Location: Symmes Township, Ohio
Responsibilities:
  • Applies knowledge of performance testing principles, practices and procedures to uncover application bottlenecks and facilitate resolution with development teams
  • Applies performance engineering/tuning to improve overall application performance
  • Research industry trends and technologies, and promote adoption of best-in-class tools, technology and processes
  • Able to work with business to define Performance NFRs and baselines
  • Understands test data requirements and takes steps to build data-driven scenarios
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking and strong problem-solving skills to develop solutions for complex issues
  • Collaborates with developers, DBAs, and infra teams to help resolve performance issues
  • Work with development to help optimize the performance and scalability of new features
  • Present relevant, clear data and metrics to various audiences – technical and non-technical
  • Provide mentoring on best practices in code and infrastructure optimization, monitoring and proactive issue mitigation
  • Provide recommendations on performance testing including scenarios, volumes and approach
  • Plan, lead and implement successful performance testing for multiple projects
  • Define performance testing strategy and timelines for large programs
  • Lead a team of performance engineers both onshore and offshore
  • Contribute to feature requirements and ability to work in an agile methodology as a shared service

Requirements:
  • In depth knowledge of performance testing, tools and processes
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, constantly-changing working environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of test concepts and methodologies
  • Experience with software delivery project management
  • Experience in understanding and practicing build management and continuous integration
  • Strong analytical problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues
  • Ability to quickly grasp high level business goals, derive requirements, and create effective testing strategies
  • Ability to write and understand complex SQL queries
  • Ability to fluidly change context and priorities based on changing business needs
  • You're self-motivated with a can-do attitude
  • Agile software development experience a plus

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience as a performance test lead working with multiple projects and leading a team of performance engineers
  • 5+ years of experience as a performance test engineer working with tools such as Client Performance Center (LoadRunner)
