Role Summary
Senior Software Dev-QA Engineer – Over The Air Software Updates
Remote Reflash group develops and maintains, software components that are at core of GM's Over The Air Software update strategy. The Software Test Engineer will work as an integral member of a global software development team to perform local test activities for quality assurance. Any prior embedded software testing experience which involves the automotive diagnostics or communication protocols will be utilized in this role.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform all necessary testing activities within assigned software projects
• Create and update test plan, ensuring test cases are traceable to requirements
• Develop and execute automated test scripts using common scripting languages and frameworks
• Report and log issues into a defect tracking system, including logs, recreation steps, video and any other supporting documentation
• Work with the engineering teams to identify, triage and resolve issues
• Work to ensure assigned testing tasks are completed on time
• Ensure status and communication reports are detailed, comprehensive and accurate
• Perform setup of tools/modules/wiring and maintains test benches and test vehicles appropriately

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years' experience testing embedded software applications
• Experience with Automotive protocols such as UDS, CAN etc.
• Good experience with writing the ECUs simulation using VSpy, CANoe etc.
• Ability to understand software requirements and software architectures
• Demonstrated experience functioning in a highly collaborative, demanding, and fast-paced environment
• Working knowledge of SDLC, functional and non-functional software testing, and various test design methodologies (function, performance, stress, load, risk-based, scenario, etc.)
• At least one scripting language (Perl, Python, etc.)
• Defect tracking tools (Bugzilla, etc.)
• Test management tools (TestRail, RQM, Quality Center, Silk Central, etc.)
• Configuration Management tools (GIT, Perforce, etc.)
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Basic Preferred:
• Experience working in a team environment using Agile software methodologies
• Hands-On programming experience in a high level programming language i.e. C++,C# etc.
