 DevOps Engineer
Philadelphia, PA
What We Need:
We're looking for a DevOps Engineer who can help drive our automation and operations capabilities to the next level. We're seeking somebody who lives to streamline and scale software operations activities. If nothing in life makes you smile quite like watching a computer do in seconds what previously took a person several hours, we want to talk to you.
What You'll Do:
As part of the development team, this role participates in building scalable software solutions. The DevOps Engineer is responsible for the integrity and stability of both production and non-production systems. This includes server installation, monitoring, maintenance, support and database administration. You'll also look critically at what we're building and how we're building it, and drive activities to mature our practices.
What You'll Need:
If you're our person, you probably look like this:
While years of experience is an imperfect measure, you've probably been doing software development for 3+ years
You have mastery of one or more configuration management frameworks such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
You can automate most tasks in Python faster than you could do them by hand
You're experienced with CI/CD tooling like Jenkins or Drone
You're pretty impressive with a Linux command line
Experience with MySQL replication, clustering, load balancing and failover
Understanding of security best practices
Experience in agile methodology
Ability to ship high quality software
Like to automate processes
Demonstrate a passion for working in a fast-paced environment with evolving technology
Be self-motivated and anticipated needed tasks
Communicate complicated ideas in a simple way
Enjoy collaborating with a geographically distributed team
Work directly with engineers to ship quickly while maintaining stability
It'd be really great if also:
You've worked with containers (Docker!) and a container orchestration (Kubernetes!)
Monitoring and Logging tools like Elasticsearch, Grafana, or similar
A desire to automate yourself out of a job. But that's okay we will always have new challenges and problems to solve!
