Qualifications:
 
  • The Work & Resource Analyst develops and communicates an integrated and optimized work plan portfolio for gas transmission and gas distribution.
  • Develops effective working relationships with functional leads to establish the baseline strategic approach to work plan execution.
  • They will build 90-day work plans, system plan, plan vs. actuals, leak plans, and ad-hoc analyses.
  • Evaluates work portfolios ensuring associated costs, timing and resources needed are integrated and optimized to execute work plans efficiently.
  • Develops contingency plans as needed. Monitors execution and updates portfolios for planning purposes.
  • They will drive strategic adjustments as needed to work portfolios.
  • Working with key stakeholders they will identify work plans for short and long- term business improvements.
  • Contributes toward Gas Safety Excellence goals by improving safety, reliability and affordability for one or more asset families and one or more life cycles.
  • Provide expert consulting to the client, to identify and satisfy client business needs.
  • Analyze end-to-end business processes and information needs of varying complexity, encompassing one or more Company business functional operations and potentially external entities.
  • Understand the client's current and future business environment, effectively anticipate, identify, and fully meet all business needs.
  • Propose, evaluate and document alternatives that will provide the most effective solution to solve business problems including delivery of new business initiatives.
  • Anticipate client concerns and questions and provide timely, professional, and client-focused communications via meetings, status reports, phone, and email and follow through with results.
  • Prepare communications and make presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives.
  • Provide client support on the effective use of production systems.
  • Research potential system issues in transaction processing and data quality.
  • Provide timely responses for client inquiries.
  • Work with team members, supervisor, and client organizations as appropriate to ensure smooth system operations to minimize impact on business operations and enable the business to achieve results.
  • Lead and/or support recovery of production system issues, including business process recovery.
  • Define and document business requirements.
  • Prepare functional specification documents for one or more applications or one or more system functions.
  • Prepare business cases in support of business initiatives.
  • Prepare technical specification documents.
  • Prepare and/or review test plans and perform quality reviews on test results.
  • Perform functional integration testing of transactional processing, data extracts, and reporting.
  • Comply with SOX documentation and other standard process requirements as appropriate.
  • Configure system parameters or soft tables to enable application functions to perform per specifications.
  • Develop queries to extract data or create operational reports using production databases.
  • Perform unit, string, and functional integration tests to ensure application solutions and reports satisfy defined functional and/or technical specifications.
  • Conduct all work safely and promote safe work practices.
  • Attend all safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Comply with all Utility safety best practices and safety accountability model. 
     
Responsibilities: 
 
  • Minimum Qualifications *Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Business, Statistics or Finance or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of related business experience
  • Experience in data & financial analysis and management
  • Experience in maintenance and construction-related activities Desired Qualifications
  • Process improvement experience
  • Excel skills: perform lookups, create pivot tables, create macros, perform error-checking
  • Access skills: create databases, write queries (including join queries, which are somewhat similar to Excel lookups), create macros, perform error-checking
  • Experience with CLICK scheduling or equivalent
  • Program or project management experience
  • Experience with work plans and resource management
  • Lean six sigma or other process improvement certification or experience
  • Technical skills using systems and applications such as SAP, R/3, Business Warehouse, Business Objects
  • Access, Excel, PowerPoint skills to develop reports, do analysis and deliver presentations
  • Ability to present complex data and findings to internal audiences
  • Ability to apply knowledge and skill to resolve complex problems
  • Solid understanding of utility budget process, cost model and regulatory recovery process
  • Knowledge of program management
  • Knowledge of CLICK scheduling or equivalent
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make recommendations
  • Knowledge of workforce scheduling concepts and practices
  • Knowledge of capital budgeting processes and methods
  • Good communication and presentation skills with various Audiences
