Senior Business Analyst - Business Intelligence Solutions

Our client, a worldwide Innovative Technology company, is seeking a Senior BI Business Analyst will lead requirements gathering, design, and quality assurance for Big Data Analytics product development and management. Additionally, you will work with the Director of Product Innovation and Agile Program Manager on both internal and external projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the organization and will be an expert in understanding best practices in business analysis and quality assurance.


Responsibilities:

. Leads IT systems /solutions analysis and verification from inception through development of Big Data Analytics software solutions as well as custom developed solutions, ensuring compliance with the requirements.
. Collaborates with customers and internal groups to identify and prioritize business needs and to aggregate business requirements.
. Significant experience of working on BI product development/implementation projects with specific experience of developing visualizations, dashboards and KPIs while leveraging leading industry BI solutions such as Tableau, Power BI, and/or MicroStrategy
. Participates and lead requirements sessions with all levels of business.
. Values and executes a strong software development methodology, preferably Agile, and Systems Development Life Cycle.
. Documents and builds Functional Test Plans which encompasses the business requirements specific to each application.
. Organizes and records detailed test results and provides reports on results and project status.
. Works with project teams through the design and test stages to ensure strict adherence to business requirements.
. Logs detailed and accurate defect reports and follows the defects through to resolution and closure.
. Works within the software development group to improve the quality of project documents and systems documentation.
. Serves as a resource for the team in the resolution of complex business or technical issues.
. Ensures adherence to information technology project management methodologies.
. Plans testing execution projects and provides labor and resource estimates that meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and adhere to SDLC processes and procedures.
. Performs data analysis and develops solutions for functional defects.
. Assists in troubleshooting, streamlining, and executing potential and/or current business challenges.
. Continues to refine analytical and quality assurance skills through staying abreast of technology industry trends.

Required Skills:

. Minimum 6 years of experience with software development required, preferably in IT consulting environment
. 4+ years of Business Analysis experience on Big Data Analytics/BI products/projects leveraging Tableau, Power BI and/or MicroStrategy tools
. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products and with Structured Query Language (SQL)
. Demonstrated ability to write transact-SQL queries
. Demonstrated ability to interact cross-functionally at all levels internally and externally, and ability to develop relationships with vendors, customers and prospects, when appropriate
. Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability, including an expertise in soliciting and interpreting customer. business needs and translating them into application and operational requirements.
. Demonstrable strong organizational and critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize and negotiate with stakeholders.
. Proven ability to manage requirements traceability and track requirements throughout the project.
. Demonstrable expertise in analyzing and developing business and technical requirements towards the development of enterprise technology solutions, including enterprise frameworks for applications, infrastructure, and security.
. Possess strong quality assurance skills to verify business and system requirements are met via detailed test plans, cases, and scripts, providing feedback and peer reviews of QA artifacts, including testing results.
. Hands on leading/facilitating the execution of test cases while document test results and noting any trends.
