Job Responsibilities (include, But Not Limited to the Following)
 
The Independent Portfolio Manager ("IPM”) Institute is a newly created group within the organization. The IPM Institute is a platform where Quants, either from the existing Research Organization or hired externally, can develop their own trading systems. We are seeking candidates with quantitative portfolio management experience, intimate knowledge of systematic strategies and proven leadership skills who will be responsible for leading the IPM Institute, and for mentoring the next generation of quantitative traders.
 
Formulate the IPM Institute's business strategy, in liaison with Senior Management
Develop quantitative talent recruitment program (focused around STEM disciplines)
Assist with the promotion of existing quantitative talent from within the firm
Develop training program for newly acquired quantitative talent
Motivate, advice and mentor quantitative portfolio managers
Create a working environment of enthusiasm, entrepreneurship and collegiality
Allocate capital to quantitative portfolio managers
Assist with risk management of IPM Institute portfolio
 
Job Qualifications
10+ years of quantitative portfolio management experience and intimate knowledge of systematic strategies
Leadership experience managing a high-performing team at a top-tier organisation(s)
Have intermediate to strong programming skills; preference for C++ and Python
Show an exceptional track record in systematic investment management
Have an understanding of optimization theory and algorithms is a plus
Have superior critical thinking and analytical skills, combined with creativity, innate curiosity, and attention to detail
Possess a relentless drive to succeed, supplemented by a strong work ethic
Possess a Ph.D. or M.S. degree from a top tier institution in a quantitative field, such as Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
