  • We are looking for Field Service 1 - Teardown Technician in Solomon, KS, 67480 for a long term contract with our direct clients. Must have 1- 3 years previous shop/manufacturing experience in transformer disassembly and repair, preferred. Knowledge or related experience in prepping units for disposal following proper environmental disposal procedures. Should have a basic understanding of Ohms Law and theory of transformer operations. Prefer OSHA 30 and Hazmat 8 hour course.

Rate : $22 -  32 $ per hour
work hours: 40 - 50 hours a week...
Type : Full Time but the client will pay hourly. Candidate will be getting all the standard benefits from the client.
 
This position is responsible for decommissioning a wide variety of transformers at off-site locations.
  • Utilizes hand, pneumatic and electric tools in order to disassemble transformers.
  • Follow safety guidelines for the area and all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete oil sampling following all procedures.
  • Complete the work orders as assigned.
  • Complete unit and LTC inspections.
  • Remove broken parts and prep for transportation.
  • Complete turn ratios, power factor test, and meg tests correctly as assigned.
  • Safely utilize industrial equipment, following capacity and load limits.
  • Follow all environmental specifications for the area especially related to spill containment.
  • Complete assignments and report issues to supervisor.
 
Requirements
  • 3 years previous shop/manufacturing experience in transformer disassembly and repair, preferred.
  • Proven satisfactory work performance and work history, required.
  • Communication skills sufficient to work effectively with internal and external customers in a very positive and professional manner.
  • Capable of working independently; completing projects with minimal supervision.
  • Prefer knowledge of electrical equipment, shop tools.
  • Knowledge or related experience in prepping units for disposal following proper environmental disposal procedures.
  • Have a basic understanding of Ohms Law and theory of transformer operations.
  • Hazmat 8 hour course.
  • CDL B, required.
  • First Aid/CPR, AED certification, preferred.
  • OSHA 10.
  • OSHA 30.
  • MSHA.
  • Microsoft Outlook experience, required.
