The Windows Desktop Systems Administrator provides support to employees or internal customers in resolving complex or escalated technology issues. Ensure the proper day-to-day operation of internal technology applications and equipment. Troubleshoot software and hardware issues on laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones, servers, and/or network equipment. Perform updates, repairs, upgrades, backups, and other maintenance tasks. May also handle phone and email assistance as well. Performs general tasks and completes routine assignments. Receives assistance in the completion of more complex assignments. Developing proficiency within discipline. Works under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Typically requires four to six years of related experience. Will be responsible for supporting windows desktop and account management in a large enterprise environment. Assigned duties will include assisting in problem ticket resolution, windows desktop application management, onboarding of new users, account management of existing users, and support on call coverage and monthly maintenance activities.

  1. 50%: Develop, document, and perform approved account management procedures related to onboarding of users and maintenance of existing user accounts in accordance with CMS guidelines
  2. 20%: Perform scheduled weekend and after-hours work, as well as after-hours emergency work, as required
  3. 20%: Support and troubleshoot account and desktop applications associated with systems within a multi-tier and multi-lifecycle environment.
  4. 10%: Installation and maintenance of desktop applications in compliance with security policies


HS Graduate or GED or Vocational Training

Course of Study/Major: degree or relevant work experience

Related Work Experience: 2-4 years

Work experience / skills / abilities required to perform the job effectively.
  • Knowledge of common Desktop Operating Systems, and Email Server Systems, Microsoft Windows Systems, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 operating systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office product capability and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of processes involved with Windows account creation and maintenance
  • Ability to analyze and document procedures for process improvement to streamline existing account management processes
  • Work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communications
  • Prior knowledge working with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services desired
This position is an individual contributor and has no supervisory responsibilities. Provides functional expertise through day-to-day work tasks. Works under the supervision of management.
