Looking for a Systems Engineer to help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure. The position will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. The position provides critical technical & engineering support and contributes to the success of both regional and global projects.
Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting MS windows based environments.
Strong knowledge & expertise of Windows 2008, 2012 & Active Directory
Strong knowledge SQL database (e.g. SQL 2008/2012…)
Demonstrates strong proficiency with SharePoint services (e.g. SharePoint 2013/SharePoint Online)
Proficient in OS troubleshooting (e.g. Windows 8.1 & 10)
Solid Cloud experience, preferably in Office365, Azure, AWS & NTT Cloud
Working experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V)
Experience in the administration and performance tuning of applications.
Experience in automating administrative task with industry proven technology.
Basic scripting skills (e.g. shell scripts)
Proficient in networking knowledge. Practical experience working with networking devices such as Routers, switches. (e.g. OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
Preferred experience with automation software for systematic management of infrastructure.
Working knowledge of virtual desktop services (e.g. VDI)
Candidate needs to have strong interpersonal communication skills
Must be able to work independently and co-work with team members in rapid changing environment and exhibit strong written and verbal communications skills.
Proficient in English (Reading/Writing/Speaking) & basic Japanese language skills is a plus.
Education and field experiences:
2 or 4-year degree in Information Technology or equivalent discipline/experience.
Must have 5+ years support experience in a corporate environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary Escalation point for server related incidents. Prioritizing those incident which directly impact the user community. Provides direct support in the day-to-day operations on server hardware/cloud and operating systems; duties include evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
Windows server & SharePoint administration e.g. Share Folder creation, Manage permissions. Share Point Site creation and authority assignment.
Documents up-to-date problems and actions on a tracking tool or written by completed logs
Create & maintains technical documents, diagrams & operational manuals.
Proactively monitors and maintains healthy status of server infrastructure also ensuring successful backup of server content/data. Automating operational or administrative tasks.
Manages and operates critical tools such as SCCM to perform & schedule security update & patches. Creates software deployment packages and ensures successful deployment.
Verifies user requested 3rd party application is qualified in the environment
Works closely and provide guidance to other IT staff, such as 1st line remote service desk, 2nd line on-site Desktop Support Desk,
Work closely with webmaster or application engineer in solving outstanding troubles to resolution and where possible contribute to project success.
Work Escalate vendors or other PIC members if it is necessary and co-work with them
Work both independently & as part of a team to complete assigned projects successfully, on time & within budget.
Provides technical consultation, training, and support to IT staff as designated by management.
Coordinates and/or performs additions and changes to servers, operating systems, and attached devices; includes investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation and testing of new network hardware and software.
