Our client has an immediate contract position for an  Experienced HR Generalist with an extensive background in Benefits.
This is a contract role for 4-6 months.

 JOB DESCRIPTION:

Purpose of Position:
The HR Generalist will act as a resource for employees and management in regard to general HR matters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Handle daily operation of HR function relative to workforce planning, compensation, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, training, performance management, policy implementation, HRIS administration, and compliance.
  • Discuss staffing needs with hiring managers. Utilize Applicant Tracking System to post jobs and manage the candidate experience and job folders.
  • Interview candidates and schedule interviews for hiring managers.
  • Create offer letters, including benefit packages.
  • Conduct new hire orientation, stay- and exit-interviews.
  • Prepare and process Employee Change Notices for all staffing changes as requested and administer appropriate changes in HRIS.
  • Act as a resource for staff and management in regard to all employee relations situations. Direct management staff appropriately in regard to inquiries concerning sensitive employment decisions. Exercise judgment within defined practices and policies.
  • Educate and coach staff and management on HR processes (Job Requisitions, Interviewing, Performance Correction Notices, etc.).
  • Provide support to staff inquiries regarding benefits/HR policies, and outside inquiries such as employment verifications, and other inquiries from the Department of Social Services and NYS Department of Labor.
  • Recommend changes to HR processes to create value to the employees, managers, and customers; improve effectiveness, reduce time and achieve cost savings.
  • Work  on administering Benefit programs, i.e. design, recommend and administer cost-effective benefits that are in compliance with legal requirements. Act as liaison between company and insurance companies, brokers, auditors, actuaries, consultants, and others on employee benefit matters
  • Manage HR and Benefit vendor relationships.
  • Assure compliance with all Federal and State mandates for Human Resource Record Retention per policy.
  • Other related duties.
 
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in business or related field required, advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years experience as a Human Resources Generalist required.
  • 5+ years experience in the design and administration of employee Benefit Plans required.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Experience with ADP preferred.
  • Ability to maintain accurate, detailed records and confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of strategically partnering with internal business leaders.
  • Superior verbal, written and interpersonal skills with ability to relate to external constituencies and all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Travel in accordance with business need.
