Our client, a major investment bank has an immediate opening for: 

VP/AVP Portfolio Management Officer to support their Credit Department.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Deputy Head of the Credit department, the Portfolio Management Officer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and reporting the quality of the Branch's portfolio.  This is a key element of the second line of risk defense.  Sound understanding of credit principles, industry trends and the general economy is essential for this position.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Relationship Managers and Credit Analysts in identifying emerging trends and/or early warning signals of the portfolio.
  • Conduct sector and portfolio analysis, in coordination with other stakeholders, of assigned industries.
  • Conduct portfolio asset quality classification and analyses.
  • Review portfolio provision, prepare qualitative support.
  • Review portfolio Basel assessments (LGD, PD and EL). 
  • Support Credit Risk Appetite
  • Support Credit Policies and Procedures
  • Other requirements may arise as per the growth of the portfolio.
 
Required Skills and Personal Attributes:
  • Knowledge of the financial markets, reporting and banking operations.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, team-work and communication skills
  • Self motivate. Goal oriented. 
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
 
Qualifications:
  • BS in Finance, Accounting or relevant subjects, Master degree is a plus.
  • At least 5 year work experience in the credit function in banks.
  • Professional designations (e.g. CPA, CFA, FRM or equivalent) a plus.
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese a plus, but not mandatory.
