Summary:
The IT Operations Engineer (ITOE) is a member of the Infrastructure Engineering team whose responsibility is to ensure the reliability, security, support and stable operation of client's systems and cloud and networking infrastructure. The role will be responsible for all aspects of the infrastructure environment, including managing changes and incident tickets.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily operational tasks and projects across client's technology portfolio.
- Monitor the effectiveness of installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of the required hardware, software, and cloud related infrastructure.
- Ensure that hardware, operating systems, application software, and related procedures adhere to organizational compliancy and operational requirements.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of solutions to improve processes and procedures.
- Assist in standardizing processes to drive automation and facilitate rapid return service to both backup and disaster recovery.
- Adhere to methodologies based on the information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) standards to provide a high performing environment.
- Participate in architecture planning, and support of the hosted cloud environment.
- Coordinate and execute controls to correct system issues and enhance both production and non-production systems.
- Report tactical and strategic operational improvements to enhance operational capabilities.
- Document all encountered system issues and create process documentation for newly implemented systems.
- Perform other position-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology or related field.
- Three years or more of experience working as a Windows system or network administrator.
- Three years or more of experience administering virtualized environments in an enterprise setting.
- Three years or more of experience in supporting an enterprise network with business-critical applications.
- Experience working with Cloud, Windows Server, Active Directory, Virtualization, VMware (including vMotion), Citrix, Veeam and SCCM.
- Experience working with Cisco and Meraki.
- Experience with Windows systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022.
- Experience with ITIL.
- Knowledge of WAN, LAN, Wireless LAN, VPN, and SSLVPN networking technologies.
- Knowledge of DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP and VLANs system software.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, including RBAC methodology and Group Policy creation and management.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell/Python).
- Ability to analyze and tune performance issues by leveraging various industry-standard monitoring and reporting tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, and networking, and software related issues.
- Ability to work independently and a member of a multi-function team.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
