Genesis10 is currently seeking a Sr. Data Engineer Consultant with our client in the transportation industry in their Atlanta, GA location. This is a 12 + month contract position.

Description:
  • Seeking a Sr. Data Engineer Consultant

Responsibilities:
  • Understand the business needs that translate them into a scalable, automated solution
  • Designing processes that can extract/receive data from various heterogeneous source systems
  • Design, develop, test, and support new capabilities and ongoing changes within the various application data marts
  • Create a ETL data flow diagrams based on the business requirements and pseudo logic
  • Design, develop, test, and support new capabilities and ongoing changes within the various application data marts
  • Should work with the multiple teams to understand the requirements, Design, Develop and test the interfaces
  • Developing reusable frameworks for data extraction, loading and cleansing
  • Work with data owners to document data mappings and transformations to support effective downstream analytics and alerts
  • Update the team on a daily or weekly basis in case of any project blockers and red flags
  • Provide performance improvement related guidance for scalability and reusability of code and data objects
  • Apply specialized knowledge in assembly or integration, cross-discipline functions, knowledge engineering, industry expertise, or legacy evolution
  • Raise software access requests to any database servers, tools and SharePoint portals required for the project

Requirements:
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in design and development of enterprise class data pipelines using tools like Informatica PowerCenter 10.x and above, SQL Server, Control M
  • Expertise in MS Access; Office 365; SharePoint; VBA; SQL and Microsoft Stream
  • Strong SQL and data profiling skills in relational database such as MS Access
  • Good understanding of the Data warehousing concepts, SQL server, Oracle SQL, or any other database SQL expertise
  • Experience with data modeling for SQL databases
  • Building capabilities to exchange the data with external partners in various formats (XML, CSV, Flat File, JSON)
  • Architecting and supporting ETL and data load processes
  • Perform data cleansing and transforming the data according to business rules
  • At least 2 years of experience working in Agile - Scrum teams
  • Strong technical background covering ETL environments with PowerCenter, Shell scripting, python.
  • Should have experience with Unit and Integration Testing process
  • Experience extracting data from a variety of sources, and a desire to expand those skills (SQL server, Oracle)
  • Should have good coordination skills and Data Analysis skills
  • Should have experience with Unit and Integration Testing process
  • Strong experience as a MS Access developer and managing a MS Access database
  • Strong knowledge of ETL pipeline design, Data Warehousing, Data Marts, and Operational data stores (ODS)
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries and SQL Tuning and strong knowledge of database design and development (SQL and NoSQL)

Desired skills:
  • University degree from a well-respected academic institution; advanced degrees in Information management, Computer Science, and/or other professional certifications 
  • Any cloud experience on AWS, Azure, and snowflake with any relevant certifications
