Genesis10 is currently seeking an Agile Scrum Master with our client in the financial industry in their Charlotte, NC location. This is a 12-month contract position.
Responsibilities:
- The candidate will be responsible for optimizing the flow of stories and the value delivered by one or more Scrum team and is focused on serving the needs of the team to drive performance and growth
- Key responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating Scrum ceremonies, managing dependencies for the team, providing visibility into team delivery plans and progress, enabling continuous improvement within the team
- This role ensures the impediments are resolved quickly, the team follows their agreed-to processes, and that there is a good relationship between the Product Owner and the development team
- Role will promote and coach the Agile mindset and principles, empowering the team to become self-managing and fulfill their cross-functional potential
- Candidates must be able to interact directly with all stakeholders, including project, security, compliance, data, user experience, engineering, architecture, operations, and governance
- Guide and coach one or more teams on Scrum practices, and develop their understanding of Agile principles
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (for example, Kanban, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Demos/Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives)
- Manage project(s) utilizing standard project management tools and techniques
- In a Scaled Agile model, facilitate scaled planning for the team (for example, Pre-Planning/ Preparation and PI Planning Events) and represent the team in Scrum of Scrums/ART Syncs
- Help the team define norms/agreements, like a Definition of Ready and Definition of Done, and enforce the agreements
- Ensure the team has a healthy product and Sprint backlog (in collaboration with the PO)
- Facilitate dependency management/risk management/impediment removal for the team
- Establish and utilize a comprehensive project plan to monitor and report project deliverables
- Coordinate in resolving issues, addressing risks; escalate concerns, and facilitate decision-making
- Develop and implement key metrics to measure/report the progress and value of the project
- Promote/facilitate communication and collaboration within the Agile team to support value delivery and Sprint commitments
- Provide visibility into the Agile team's delivery plans and progress against plan to stakeholders
- Enable the team to become high performing through collaboration and a relentless focus on continuous improvement including cross-skilling across the team
- Measure team delivery, maturity, and performance and review the metrics with the team to identify improvement opportunities
- Mentor more junior Scrum Masters
Requirements:
- College degree in or equivalent hands-on experience
- Scrum Master certified (CSM)
- 10+ years' experience with IT Project Management
- 3+ years' experience working with Agile/Scrum development methodology
- 2+ years' hands-on scrum master experience
- Experience working with Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence
- Ability to perform planning for multiple initiatives/projects, managing all tasks required to provide services to meet business needs within the timeline and the budget
- Hands-on experience with any agile collaboration tool(s)
- Self-starter, critical thinker with proven ability to deal with granular requirements yet see things holistically and strategically
- Strong ability to work partner with cross-functional teams to deliver project goals
- Ability to shift and pivot with changing responsibilities
- Ability to effectively manage project scope, and communicate with partners in IT, business, and vendors
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
- Ability to learn new technology and business process as required
- Comfortable sharing ideas and concepts in a highly collaborative team
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail, effective time management skills
- Possess a personal sense of urgency and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Diplomatic, flexible, and 'easy to work with' personality
- English Speaking/Writing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience moving teams and organizations from waterfall to Agile methodologies
- Experience working with Microsoft Cloud technologies, Microsoft 365, is highly desired
- PPM Certification
- PSM Certification
- Prior Financial Services domain experience
Pay Range: $63.94 - $71.94
