Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry in their Jersey City, NJ location. This is a 12 month + contract position.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business and end users to understand the requirement and come up with the delivery plan. Analyze requirement and provide delivery estimates
  • Coordinate within the technology teams to resolve ongoing data related issues
  • Lead the data support and maintenance activities in lower lane environments and work with Application Support team to deliver adhoc data related requirements in Production
  • Design, develop and implement automation scripts for various types of data loads
  • Responsible for the successful execution of daily, monthly and quarterly data loads
  • Support production support team, investigate and provide resolution for ongoing data issues
  • Report status and progress on assigned and ongoing tasks
  • Ability to multitask, work well under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Responsible for preparing and providing technical documentation

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (MS is a plus)
  • 3+ years of programming experience using Python
  • 5+ Years of IT experience with 3+ Years of relevant experience in developing ETL solutions in Hadoop & RDBMS technologies. Well versed with efficiently transferring bulk data between heterogenous data sources (Hadoop, RDBMS, etc.)
  • Good programming knowledge with Hadoop, HIVE, Spark, Unix, Shell Scripting, Relational Databases
  • Strong SQL writing background with RDBMS (SQL SERVER/Oracle) and Hadoop (Hive/Spark/Impala, etc.)
  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries
  • Good understanding of agile development and continuous integration
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing requirements
  • Strong analytical ability, detail-oriented, independent problem solving, and excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in technical documentation, requirement analysis and user guidelines

Desired skills:
  • Python development experience

Pay Range: $58.26 - $66.26
