Our client, the world's leading search engine and technology company, is seeking a Technical Writer IV. This is a 12 month + contract position located in Mountain View, CA.

  • The development of AI is creating new opportunities to improve the lives of people around the world, from business to healthcare to education. It is also raising new questions about the best way to build fairness, interpretability, privacy, and security into these systems. Responsible AI and Human-centered Technology team, is looking for an exceptional Technical Writer to develop documentation and educational materials that guide product teams on how to identify, mitigate, and solve known Responsible AI risks.
  • The ideal candidate will be a strong Technical Writer, have experience with or knowledge of Machine Learning systems, and have an interest/background in sociotechnical theory/systems, socially-beneficial technology, human-centered technology, or user-centered design.

  • Partner with the program team to understand and map existing Responsible AI workflows.
  • Produce clear and succinct educational materials geared towards a technical audience (developers/infra/PA teams interested in implementing these solutions).
  • Determine the right level of detail for complex technical information and write technical documentation.
  • Develop a user-friendly content strategy for a growing/changing complex domain space.
  • Manage community-driven docs and drive active contributions.
  • Edit documents written by others; coach engineers to improve their writing skills.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in technical writing, product documentation, or online publishing including writing technical customer-facing materials.
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning.
  • 1-2 years of AI specific experience preferred.
  • Ability to create accurate, clear, concise, and well-organized content that transfers knowledge to meet user needs.
  • Ability to lead content creation projects, including developing an understanding of the project constraints, scoping work, communicating content creation plans, and securing buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively with subject matter experts to identify and extract information that users need and collaborate on iterations of content drafts.
  • Ability to quickly and proactively learn the concepts and principles of the technical domain that is being documented such that they can anticipate users' needs along their entire user journey.
  • Ability to adjust communication style for different audiences.
  • Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no Corp-to-Corp)
  • Desired:

    • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
