Genesis10 is seeking a TAC Field Engineer for our client, a Managed IT Provider in San Antonio, TX, for a 4-month contract for hire opportunity.


Job Summary
This Position is responsible for checking and responding to incoming client tickets and Phone calls. As well as diagnoses and resolves technical hardware and software issues for network devices and phones, user set-up and removal, performs a variety of maintenance, end-user support, and support tasks to ensure end-user workstations, phones and network performance meet company and user requirements. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
This position also requires the engineer to make site visits as necessary to install and service phones and network equipment. May include installation of structured cable and cable termination and testing
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The engineer is responsible for responding to support requests (i.e., telephone, e-mail, support-portal, and personnel requests) to requests or resolve technical issues.
  • Prioritize tickets so to quickly resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Document actions during the ticket resolution.
  • Resolving issues and installations may require the engineer to complete the task onsite at the customers location.
  • Stay current with Voice solutions, IT environment, changes, and updates. Identify and escalate problem tickets and urgent situations to the proper resource.
  • Resolving more complex issues requiring detailed systems and applications knowledge.
  • Ability to perform network performance issue that effects the client base which may include working with firewall, switches, modems, phones and other devices.
  • Keep work area and equipment room organized.
  • Notify manager of lack of resources. Identify issues and suggest operational improvements. Actively contribute to ongoing process improvement.
  • Ability to complete multiple simultaneous projects in a timely manner.
  • Work as a team with co-workers to educated and gain knowledge.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of the design, installation, and support some or all aspects of cloud Telecommunications solutions, VoIP, LANs & WANs.
  • Knowledge of the installation & configuration routers, firewalls, switches (layer 2 & layer 3), and wireless access points, digital and VoIP phones for customer applications.
  • Working experience on all aspects of IT from desktop support to server & network administration. Working knowledge in Microsoft 365 and Azure, Microsoft Server (set up & configuration) experience, including Exchange (group policies, upgrades, able to navigate active directory without assistance), SQL Server.
  • Experience and knowledge of VMWare, virtualized solutions, and Linux strongly preferred.
