Genesis10 is actively seeking a Technology Supervisor/End Point Engineer resource for a direct hire/permanent position opening with our transportation industry client located in Overland Park, KS. 
 
Description:

The Technology Supervisor End-Point Engineering will serve as a subject matter expert providing engineering and 24x7 support of technology solutions supporting the business's end user technology platforms, including desktop, mobile device and Citrix application delivery platform. In addition to day to day support within the team's incident, change, and request activities, this role will organize and oversee team member activities, training and operations.

Responsibilities :

Develop & Drive Strategy (20%)

  • Maintain current understanding of emerging technologies aligned to business needs
  • Provide input into the infrastructure roadmaps from an engineering perspective
  • Provide input into long and short-range projects/plans to drive improvements in areas of assigned responsibility; partner with manager and other technology teams to align on key strategies and priorities

Deliver Reliable Solutions & Technology (30%)

  • Drive lifecycle management of currency upgrades and/or sunset/termination
  • Drive goals/objectives in a planned and organized manner, ensuring quality and timely delivery within approved budget
  • Provide clear communication on approach, status, issues and risks on a regular basis to manager
  • Act as liaison with other IT personnel for problem resolution and requirements gathering
  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing accurate documentation steps for installation, maintenance, support, and configuration activities. Maintains platform related inventory and other hardware/software/license tracking documentation as needed

Operational Support & Service Management (35%)

  • 24X7 operation of IT support and services for ~400 facilities
  • Approve weekly time for hourly or salaried employees and ensure support rotations are adequately staffed
  • Actively participate in change, problem, request, and incident management to ensure SLA's are met
  • Provide stability, availability and operational effectiveness of services and solutions
  • Seek customer feedback regularly to ensure services and support are efficient and effective; surface and identify repeat problems or service challenges. Craft and drive improvement plans to close gaps
  • Develop and drive improvements from operational and solution health metrics (service metrics including utilization, availability, costs, etc.)
  • Work with other teams to determine process improvements and knowledge document creation that will allow level 3 teams to focus on project work and level 1 teams to increase first call resolution

Financial & Performance Management (15%)

  • Drive the growth, development and overall performance improvement of the team
  • Provide input in annual financial budgeting/planning processes.
  • Manage actuals to budget and timely communication of budget exceptions and assist with development of plans to close gaps
  • With support from the Manager, IT Infrastructure Engineering,
    • Lead and grow a high-performance team by selecting high potential talent, training, coaching and providing developmental assignments.
    • Human resource management including interviewing, hiring new employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; career development

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology related field or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of proven professional experience demonstrating the ability to supervise a team of hourly and/or salaried team members working with End User facing technologies
  • Professional experience showing ability to research, develop plans and procedures, coordinate, schedule projects and prioritize work; demonstrating ability to respond to multiple projects within acceptable time frames, and ability to prepare and maintain accurate reports and metrics;
  • Professional experience demonstrating the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees and contractors, to prepare reports and to communicate ideas effectively, both orally and in writing
  • 5+ years' experience leading a team or supporting the following technologies: Citrix, SCCM, Active Directory, Windows Operating System, and VMware
  • 5+ years' experience leading an engineering team or supporting end user hardware including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, tablets and thin client devices, including life cycle management, device selection/evaluation, application packaging, image builds and group policy management
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams
  • Prior supervisory or management experience.
