Genesis10 is actively seeking a Jr. IT Asset Manager resource for a contract opportunity (contract term approximately 6 months, with possible extension) with our utilities industry client located in Topeka, KS. Candidate will be required to drive a company vehicle to deliver equipment to other locations as needed. Must have a valid drivers license for this position. This is not a PC Technician position; it is a non-technical role. The hours for this position are 7;30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform non-technical, warehousing duties:  data entry, shipping, receiving, fork-lift operation, travel (vehicle provided) to KC and Wolf Creek (M, W, F)

  • With general supervision, the Jr. IT Asset Management Analyst is responsible for some on-going operations of the IT life-cycle process for all software and hardware technology assets throughout the organization.
  • Supports the ITAM practice in helping to mitigate financial and/or legal risks associated to vendor compliance, identify potential cost savings opportunities relating to software & support, & help improve our negotiating position with vendors. – 10%
  • Responsible for shipping, receiving, distributing, tracking, and reconciling PO's or service requests, for all IT asset hardware. – 5%
  • Facilitate data disposition and follow all NERC/CIP regulatory requirements for hardware asset management. – 5%
  • Acts as a conduit between departments to provide timely access to IT software deployment & license entitlement data. – 10%
  • Ensure the Asset Management solution (& supporting tools) can accurately count the software license deployments specified in each vendor agreement & reconcile them to license entitlements (e.g., software contracts, purchase records, etc.). – 10%
  • Assists with the operations of division policies, processes, & procedures for effective software lifecycle management (acquisition through retirement or re-use) leveraging the Asset Manager solution & help ensure company adoption. – 10%
  • Assists with the processes to perform the reconciliation of installed software to license entitlements. – 40%
  • Assists auditors to audit the activities of the department for compliance with procedures. Implements / enforces corrective actions as required. – 10% .  
  • Associate's Degree in a computer science-related field OR 1 years recent experience in an IT field of work.
  • Preferred Certifications (one of these) Certified Software Asset Manager, Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional, Certified IT Asset Manager • ITIL Foundations certification preferred.
  • Must have an understanding of IT hardware and technical terms.
  • Solid understanding of IT lifecycles not limited to hardware, including end user computing, server & network equipment, software related purchases, & IT service contracts.
  • General understanding of SOX compliance.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Is self-motivated, detail and goal oriented, and an innovative thinker.
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills; ability to work with a diverse team and help influence/drive change across functional and business boundaries.
  • Must be reliable, accountable, flexible, and willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Strong technical/system administrative skills.
  • Needs to have experience working with an IT ticketing system.
  • General knowledge of SAM tools, IT asset discovery technologies, and data analysis techniques (using Excel, Access, and ServiceNow).
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize system generated (ServiceNow, IAM) tasks based on criticality & meet deadline
  • Ability to occasionally be required to stand, walk or sit for prolonged periods of time, & may also have to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Ability to lift/move/carry between 10 - 50 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Candidate will be working in a warehouse setting.
  • Candidate will be required to drive a company vehicle to deliver equipment to other locations as needed. Must have a valid drivers license for this position.
  • Candidate must possess no less than 1 year of experience for the items listed in the skill matrix.
  • If candidate is required to drive their personal vehicle to an alternate working location mileage will be reimbursed according to company's mileage reimbursement policy.
  • This is a NERC CIP position and candidate will be required to complete the NERC CIP screening requirements.
