Genesis10 is actively seeking a Sr. UX Researcher resource for a contract position (contract term approximately 6 months, with possible extension) with our client located in Johnston, IA.   

The client is seeking a Senior UX Researcher to support the development of websites and digital products for modern agriculture.  In this role this resource will work with internal teams to deliver actionable data-driven insights from customers and stakeholders to shape the product experience.  This resource will partner with UX designers, product managers, and software engineers to shape all stages of development, from uncovering new opportunities to refining the current in-app experience.

  • Lead user research projects to inform product strategy and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
  • Support in the creation and execution of research studies for concept generation, concept validation and usability as well as leading workshops and brainstorming sessions when needed.
  • Work with product teams in suggesting research opportunities and new research approaches to fit their needs and their business goals.
  • Conduct evaluative and generative research to deliver actionable insights.
  • Create and deliver UX deliverables including research presentations, journey maps, personas, and UX insights reports.
  • Evangelize UX research best practices across the company.


  • Undergraduate Degree (Masters Degree preferred) in HCI, Anthropology, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or other fields emphasizing user needs and behaviors.
  • 5 years of work experience in an applied research setting as a user researcher applying design thinking and user centered design methodologies.
  • Ability to lead design thinking and strategy sessions with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of strengths and limitations of different research methods, including when and how to apply them.
  • Excellent observational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize time between multiple projects and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects.
  • Design training, knowledge of prototyping tools, ability to create testable mockups an added bonus.
  • Familiarity with agriculture / farming practices an added bonus.
  • Ability to provide a portfolio of work for review.
